πŸ“– CHAPTER 1

When God had driven Adam and Eve out of the garden, they went down into the land of the cave of treasures.

And Adam and Eve wept and lamented, saying:

β€œO Lord, what have we done? Why hast Thou cast us out from Thy presence?”

And they were sorrowful because they had lost the glory that had clothed them.

And Adam said unto Eve:

β€œWe have lost our former habitation, and we are brought into this world of darkness.”

β€œAnd we must now endure hunger and thirst.”

And they were afraid of the night and the darkness.

And they entered the cave and made it their dwelling.

And Adam said:

β€œThis cave shall be our place of refuge.”

And they prayed unto the Lord continually.

And they stood up and prayed, and they lifted up their voices unto the Lord.

And they said:

β€œO Lord, forgive us our sin, and restore us to Thy mercy.”

And the Lord sent His Word unto them, saying:

β€œI have made thee of the dust, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

β€œBut I will have mercy upon thee in the end.”

And Adam fasted forty days and forty nights.

And Eve fasted thirty-four days.

And they prayed without ceasing.

And Satan appeared unto them in the form of an angel of light.

And he said:

β€œGod hath sent me to bring you back to your former glory.”

And Adam believed him not, and rebuked him.

And Satan fled from him.

And again Satan came unto Eve, and deceived her.

And he said:

β€œEat and be restored.”

But Adam reproved her, and she repented.

And they continued in fasting and prayer.

And the Lord strengthened them, and gave them hope.

And they endured hunger and thirst.

And they learned to live upon the earth.

And Adam taught Eve to trust in the Lord.

And Satan returned again, seeking to deceive them.

And Adam rebuked him in the name of the Lord.

And they continued in repentance.

And they prayed day and night.

And the Lord comforted them.

And He promised redemption in the future.

And Adam and Eve remained in the cave, trusting in the Lord.

And Adam said unto Eve:

β€œBe patient, for the Lord hath not forsaken us.”

β€œAnd though we suffer, He will remember His promise.”

And they continued in prayer.

And Satan returned again, and he appeared as a messenger from God.

And he said:

β€œThe Lord hath heard your prayer and hath sent me to guide you.”

And Eve listened, but Adam perceived his deceit.

And Adam said:

β€œDepart from us, for thou art the enemy.”

And Satan was confounded and fled.

And Adam wept, and said:

β€œO Lord, how long shall we be tempted?”

And he fell upon the ground in sorrow.

And the Lord sent His Word unto Adam, saying:

β€œBe strong and endure, for I am with thee.”

And they arose and continued their fasting.

And they stood in the water many days, praying unto God.

And Satan appeared again and sought to frighten them.

But they did not fear him.

And Eve said:

β€œWe will not listen to thee again.”

And Adam encouraged Eve, saying:

β€œLet us trust in the Lord.”

And they endured many hardships.

And they were hungry and weary.

And the Lord sent angels to strengthen them.

And they learned to gather food from the earth.

And Adam taught Eve the ways of survival.

And Satan continued to tempt them, but they resisted.

And they prayed unto the Lord with a contrite heart.

And the Lord sent His Word unto them, saying:

β€œBe patient, and endure until the time appointed.”

β€œFor I will bring salvation unto thee and thy seed.”

And Adam and Eve were comforted by these words.

And they strengthened themselves in hope.

And they began to build a life upon the earth.

And they labored with their hands.

And they gathered food and sustained themselves.

And they learned the ways of the earth.

And Satan came once more, seeking to deceive them.

But they rebuked him in the name of the Lord.

And he fled from them, and could not prevail.

And the Lord sent angels to watch over them.

And Adam gave thanks unto the Lord.

And Eve also praised the Lord.

And they remembered the promise of redemption.

And they taught their children to fear the Lord.

And they instructed them in righteousness.

And the Lord was with them.

And they lived many days upon the earth.

And their faith remained strong.
